Message from the Independent Chair
Welcome to the Bromley Safeguarding Adults Board (BSAB) website.
Here you will find information about how the Board oversees and seeks assurance on the work taking place across the borough to protect adults from abuse and neglect, and to reduce the risk of harm. The site also provides guidance on how to recognise and report concerns, as well as information about organisations offering advice, support and services to Bromley residents.
Under the Care Act 2014, Safeguarding Adults Boards have a strategic leadership role that goes beyond the individual operational duties of partner agencies. BSAB works across the system to provide oversight, challenge and assurance, ensuring that all partners collectively contribute to the prevention of abuse and neglect and the promotion of wellbeing.
As Independent Chair, I bring a strong background in policing, alongside significant experience of leading safeguarding partnerships, including chairing other Safeguarding Adults Boards, two of which are in London. This breadth of experience provides valuable insight into complex safeguarding issues, strengthens cross-borough learning, and reinforces our commitment to robust scrutiny, partnership working and continuous improvement across Bromley.

By working closely with a wide range of partners from statutory, voluntary, community and independent sectors, we are committed to ensuring that the voices of people with lived experience, as well as carers, help shape and influence safeguarding practice. We continue to seek meaningful and inclusive ways to engage all residents and communities across Bromley.
We welcome your feedback on our website and the work of the Board. You can contact us via this online survey here.
